A unit of the Mahindra Group has collaborated again with their long term partner Aernnova Aerospace Corp. They have signed a new deal which will grant them access to manufacture some aircraft parts in India for Airbus SA and Embraer SA.
The Mahindra Aerostructures Pvt. Ltd. has made a statement on Tuesday, 18th June stating that the company would be making metal sub-assemblies and components and will be supplying them to Aernnova Aerospace’s sites in the United Kingdom, Spain, Brazil and Portugal. This will all be done under a $300-million multi-year contract.
The Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) of both the companies have stated the delight they have had through this collaboration and are looking forward to working together.
Ricardo Chocarro, the CEO of the Aernnova Aerospcae, said, “This partnership with Mahindra will enable Aernnova to reinforce its supply base to secure production ramp-ups in our factories for all our programs, fulfilling our mission to deliver to our customers. We have great confidence in their expertise and high-end technology capabilities.”
The CEO of Mahindra Group, Anish Shah stated,“We are delighted with the confidence Aernnova has reposed on us and are grateful for their support. As we scale up our operations and make significant investments in our aerospace business.”
Mahindra Aerostructures and Aernnova Aerospace have been together for the past 12 years. The two companies first allied back in 2013 when Aernnova Aerospace had helped the Indian conglomerate in establishing its aerospace plant in Bengaluru, India.
Their alliance took another step 7 year later in 2020 when the Spanish company acquired the existing customer Hamble Aerostructures from General Electric Company of the Mahindra Aerostructures. Now, both the companies have turned a new page as they are building the new contract to explore multiple synergies in the upcoming years.
