As the Amarnath Yatra is just around the circle, the Jammu and Kashmir administration on Tuesday, 17th June, has declared all Amarnath Yatra routes as ‘no fly zones’ between July 1st and August 10th. These security measures are being taken just to ensure proper security for the upcoming Amarnath Yatra.
The Home Department has issued an order that has stated that the Lt Governor (LG) has given out strict security measures for the Yatra. The LG has stated that there are directives stating a clear suspension of any aerial activities on the routes for Yatra. They have declared them as “No Flying Zones” between July 1 and August 10, 2025.
The official order issued from the Home Department stated, “In view of the forthcoming Shri Amarnathji Yatra, 2025, which is scheduled from 3rd July 2025 to 9th August 2025, various security arrangements are being undertaken for the smooth and peaceful conduct of the Yatra, and all the stakeholders have discussed the prevailing security scenario and have proposed additional logistics provisions.”
The government has decided to strengthen the security of the Amarnath Yatra. The government has suspended any aerial activity at the route including both Pahalgam axis and Baltal axis. Thus, it is to be noted that flying any kind of aviation platforms and devices including UAVs, Drones, Balloons, etc. is prohibited.
“These restrictions will not be applicable in the cases of medical evacuation, disaster management and for surveillance by security forces. A detailed SOP for such exceptions will be issued subsequently,” the issued order added.
It is being reported that the security conditions for the Amarnath Yatra have been upped, and it is being taken care of so that the Yatra goes on smoothly. The security arrangements had to be taken care of especially after the terrorist attack on Pahalgam and the recent cross-border conflicts.
