Indians in Iran, advised to move to safe locations by Indian Embassy

The conflict between Israel and Iran has only raged further in the past few days as both the countries have launched continuous missile attacks over each other. Meanwhile, the two are attacking each other, there are many Indian nationals and Persons of Indian origins who are stuck in Iran and the Indian Embassy has issued an advisory for Indians to move out of the city considering the serious security situation.

In a statement made through their official social media account ‘India in Iran’, the Indian Embassy has stated, “All Indian nationals and PIOs who can move out of Tehran using their own resources are advised to move to a safe location outside the city.”

The embassy also stated through their advisory, “All Indian nationals who are in Tehran and not in touch with the Embassy are requested to contact the Embassy of India in Tehran immediately and provide their location and contact numbers.”

The Ministry of External Affairs of India has stated that they are doing everything they can to help out Indians in Iran. They have announced that they are getting a 24×7 establishment that will be present to help out through the current developments between Israel and Iran. They are also issuing several helpline numbers for people to contact.

Randhir Jaiswal, official spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs, has put out details on his X in a post that read, “A 24×7 Control Room has been established in the Ministry of External Affairs in view of the ongoing developments in Iran and Israel. In addition, the Embassy of India in Tehran, Iran has set up a 24×7 emergency helpline with contact.” The post also details of the toll number for the Control Room and details of the helpline contacts.

The Ministry has also reported that the students from Tehran have been relocated to rather safer places outside the city. This was done in coordination with the Indian Embassy as the city wasn’t safe in the current situation. They have also informed that several Indians are being safely moved out to leave Iran through the border with Armenia.
