There is a new controversy beaming with the two oldest rivals in the history of cricket. The Australian Cricket Team has suffered a huge blow as they were denied training at the famed Lord’s cricket ground for their match on 11 June. Australia will be facing South Africa in the finals of the World Test Championship 2025 at the mecca of cricket, Lord’s.

Although the Australian team has a match coming in two days, they were told that Lord’s ground won’t be available for practice. The controversial part of the report was that while Australia wasn’t allowed training, several Indian players, who were there for a 5-match series against England, were practicing on the ground.

Australian team captain, Pat Cummins spoke about his team’s preparations and the plans they have for the upcoming finals. He also talked about the abuse him and his teammates constantly get from the English crowd whenever they play at Lord’s. He even stated that he believes many fans have learned their lesson from the last time and will not repeat the same mistake they did last time.

After being denied access initially, Australian players finally tested themselves at the venue on Sunday.

“I think this is the best version of the stadium this morning. There’s no one around, which is great. I’m sure it will be much more civil this time around. Things got pretty heated in the middle of that Ashes series, but I think a lot of them will have learned their lesson and I’m sure they’ll be very polite,” Pat Cummins said.

The reasons behind the denial for training sessions have not been revealed yet but questions have been asked on why the Indian team was given preference over the Australian cricket team. It is to be noted that India is going to play the first test match of the series on 20th June while Australia has to play on 11th June.

Cummins will be leading the fearsome Australian pace attack alongside his bowling partners Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood. It is expected that Scott Boland won’t be making the cut for the team and Nathan Lyon will be playing as a spin option alongside the charged-up pace battery.
