India’s first AI University to be built in Andhra Pradesh

Andhra Pradesh is taking major steps towards development as it looks forward to becoming home to the country’s first Artificial Intelligence University. The Andhra Government will be partnering up with the global tech major NVIDIA and has signed a memorandum to build the nation’s first AI university.

The announcement of the major step in the tech field was made by the Chief Minister of the state, N Chandrababu Naidu. It is also being reported that the Information Technology minister of the state, Nara Lokesh will be given the opportunity to lead the initiative.

According to CM Naidu the initiative will span education, skills, research, and innovation across the state. It will also be a stepping stone in the foundation to his dream of a “Swarna Andhra Pradesh.” NVIDIA will help the state in setting up the AI university that will build up its infrastructure all around and will enhance the research capabilities of the state.

According to the memorandum signed with the state, NVIDIA will be supporting the curriculum development and training of the AI university. The initiative aims to provide AI skill training to more than 10,000 engineering students across Andhra Pradesh in the next two years. Along with that there will be around 500 AI startups that will be provided access to NVIDIA’s Inception Program. This program will help them gain global exposure and will provide them with key resources to build their brand.

Recently Andhra Pradesh was in news as there were announcements made that IBM Quantum and Tata Consultancy Services have partnered up to develop India’s largest quantum computer in Andhra Pradesh’s Quantum Valley Tech Park.
