Royal Challengers Bengaluru finally ended the drought and won their first season after battling it out for the past 17 years in the Indian Premier League. While the IPL final was in full flow, Bollywood superstar, Aamir Khan was present over there promoting his upcoming movie, ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’. The veteran actor joined the commentary box for both Hindi and Bhojpuri listeners and showcased his excitement.

Often referred to as ‘The Perfectionist’ for the flare and sincerity which he showcases through his craft, Aamir Khan was asked who he thinks is ‘The Perfectionist’ in the Indian Cricket Team. Aamir, who is always meticulous with his words said that he once used to believe that there is only one ‘Ultimate Perfectionist’ in cricket, Sachin Tendulkar. But as the time has evolved he believes that Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah have carried forward the Master Blaster’s legacy.

Virat Kohli was revered as the next big thing in Indian cricket since 2013 when Tendulkar retired after a 24 year stellar career. Sachin himself said that he believes Virat and Rohit will be the ones carrying his legacy forward and will eventually break his records.

Kohli rose to the occasion when the baton was passed to him and became one of the best batsman of this generation. In the World Cup 2023, Virat finally surpassed his idol and broke his record of 49 centuries in One Day Internationals. When he achieved the feat Tendulkar was present in the stands and in what was one of his biggest achievements, Kohli only bowed down to Sachin and gave him his respect.

Jasprit Bumrah on the other hand, didn’t have that much anticipation when he was starting his career. Bumrah came in the Mumbai Indians setup as a bowler who had an awkward action and wasn’t that known in the domestic circuit. Soon Bumrah started working with MI legend Lasith Malinga, who was one of the greatest T20 bowlers of his time.

Bumrah worked hard and perfected his craft alongside the Sri Lankan legend and after 12 years of his debut, in a match against Lucknow Super Giants, Bumrah surpassed the legend becoming the leading wicket-taker in the franchise history.

Aamir Khan is all set to make his Bollywood return with the movie ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’ which is a spiritual sequel to his classic ‘Taare Zameen Par’. This film will be his first after a disappointing showing in his last movie Laal Singh Chaddha. Aamir is in the lead role of the film alongside Genelia D’Souza and 10 debut actors. The movie is directed by R.S. Prasanna and produced by Aamir Khan and Aparna Purohit.
