The controversy between Sandeep Reddy Vanga and Deepika Padukone is a steaming hot topic in the film industry right now. The dispute after the departure of Deepika from Vanga’s project Spirit has birthed a dispute between both the celebrities. The media was quick to ask Kajol and Ajay Devgn their opinions around the matter while they were attending the trailer launch of Kajol’s upcoming movie Maa.
The whole fiasco between Deepika and Vanga was around the actress asking for a 6-hour shift which the director didn’t approve of. The media asked Kajol what her thoughts were on the on-going tussle in the Bollywood about new mothers demanding an 8-hour shift. The veteran actress in her ever so fun-loving way replied that she would always love to work less hours.
Although when the same question was asked to Ajay Devgn, the megastar believed that a lot of people would understand the situation. He emphasized that most directors won’t be apprehensive about the idea of new mothers working 8-hours shifts.
Devgn said, “It’s not that it is not going down well with people. A lot of people understand. Most of the honest filmmakers would not have a problem with it. Also, other than new moms working for 8 hours, most people have started working for 8 hours. I think it’s person to person, and most of the industry understands.”
The conflict between the two Bollywood personalities came into the spotlight after ‘Kabir Singh’ and ‘Animal’ famed director went on a rant on his X handle. After Deepika left his film project, Vanga vented out his frustration on social media without mentioning the name of the actress.
Vanga wrote, “When I narrate a story to an actor, I place 100% faith. There is an unsaid NDA (Non-Disclosure Agreement) between us. But by doing this, you’ve ‘DISCLOSED’ the person that you are…Putting down a younger actor and ousting my story? Is this what your feminism stands for? As a filmmaker, I put years of hard work behind my craft & for me, filmmaking is everything. You didn’t get it. You won’t get it. You will never get it.”
After Deepika’s departure from the movie, the makers have announced her replacement. They have made it public that ‘Laila Majnu’ famed star Triptii Dimri is going to be the leading lady in their movie, Spirit.
