Actor Sidharth Malhotra has been garnering immense appreciation for shouldering the brave role of Captain Vikram Batra in the much-anticipated film, ‘Shershaah’. Vishal Batra, the Kargil War hero’s brother praised the actor and revealed why he thinks Sidharth is the perfect choice for playing the lead in the film. Over the past few years, Sidharth spent a lot of time with the late Army officer Vikram Batra’s friends and family to understand him better. However, it was the actor’s meeting with Vishal Bhatra, Vikram’s brother that gave him the vision to create a film on his inspirational journey. Vishal shared that he and his family were keen to see Sidharth playing the lead role in the film. He said, “When we met Sidharth for the first time we felt he had a lot of similarities with Vikram. During the course of our interaction with him, we found out that he was a very good human being, very humble, passionate, and a loving guy. Hence we thought he was a perfect choice to play Vikram’s role.”

Sidharth has seamlessly pulled off two very different looks in the film and his natural performance is winning everyone’s heart. “Sidharth did a lot of hard work in understanding Vikram to the entirety,” he added.

Actor heads to shoot for ‘Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway’

Bollywood actor Rani Mukerji has left India to start shooting for her much-awaited film ‘Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway’. Billed as an untold story about a journey of a mother’s battle against an entire country, the movie will be directed by Ashima Chibber of ‘Mere Dad Ki Maruti’ fame. Speaking about the upcoming project, a source said, “Rani is set to start shooting the film in the next couple of days. She has done intensive preparation for the film which will be revealed in due course of time and one can expect a sublime Rani Mukerji performance as Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway is a complete author-backed role for her.” “Rani will be out of the country for over a month for this shoot. She has been waiting to start this project which is extremely close to her heart,” the source added.

During the film’s announcement, Rani had said, “Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway is a story of true human resilience and it is a film that is dedicated to all the mothers out there. It is truly one of the most amazing scripts that I have read in a long time and I immediately decided to do this special film.”

Star shares BTS picture from ‘Freddy’ film set

Giving a sneak peek of his character from the upcoming romantic thriller ‘Freddy’, actor Kartik Aaryan, on Friday, shared a BTS picture from the film set on his social media handle. Kartik took to his Instagram account to post a picture from the film set. The snap features a clapperboard covering the actor’s face in order to keep his character under wraps. However, a glimpse of what Kartik is wearing can be seen clearly in the picture. The actor’s clothes are similar to what he wore while portraying the role of Chintu Tyagi in his 2019 rom-com ‘Pati Patni Aur Woh’. Going by the snap, it could be seen that Kartik is sitting in a cafe with a bouquet of roses while waiting for his date.

“A film that’s been close to my heart, long before it began. Finally, he comes to life!! Now shooting #Freddy,” he wrote in the caption. ‘Freddy’ went on floors on August 1 in Mumbai. Kartik announced the news on his Instagram Story and shared a picture from the film set. The forthcoming film is being helmed by Shashanka Ghosh and is produced by Ekta Kapoor (Balaji Telefilms) and Jay Shewakramani (Northern Lights Films).
