A 10-year-old boy of Mamdot village in Punjab’s Ferozepur district, Shravan Singh has been honoured with the title of ‘Youngest Civil Warrior’ by the Indian Army. The young child was recognised for his valiant efforts during the Operation Sindoor. He provided soldiers with water, tea, milk, lassi, ice and offered them comfort and support.
The army saw the dedication in the eyes of the little child towards the Indian army and the bond he had made with the soldiers and decided to felicitate him with a special honor. Major General Ranjeet Singh Manral, GOC of the 7 Infantry Division felicitated Shravan with the honor of being the ‘Youngest Civil Warrior’.
An army officer, Major Madhan Kumar in a post on his X account wrote, “Indian Army honours little boy Shravan Singh, who helped soldiers in Amritsar border by bringing water, milk, lassi, ice from his house during Operation Sindoor. Sardar for a reason. Nation First.”
After the felicitation the young child spoke to the media and told them how ecstatic he felt visiting the army. He said, “I want to become a soldier when I grow up and serve the nation. They gave me a special gift, treated me to a special meal, and even gave me ice cream. That made me very happy.”
Shravan’s father, Sona Singh also spoke to the reporters and told them about how proud he felt of his son when he was serving the soldiers. “The soldiers were stationed on our land, and from the very first day, my son began taking milk, lassi, water, and ice to them. We never stopped him because he found happiness in serving the Army. He kept visiting them regularly, and it made us proud. He now dreams of becoming a soldier one day,” Shravan’s father stated.
