Veteran actor Mukul Dev who was known for his roles in Son of Sardar, R. Rajkumar and Jai Ho, passed away at the age of 54 on Friday May 23rd, 2025. The cause of death of the veteran actor was not confirmed as of now.
The news of the actor passing away was earlier confirmed by actress Deepshika Nagpal who through her Instagram story expressed the shock she felt by the disheartening news. Putting a story on Instagram, Deepshikha wrote, “Can’t believe this. RIP (Rest In Peace).” She also posted a picture with the late actor reminiscing their moments.
Deepshika, while speaking about the late actor, said, “I was in touch with him. We were part of the same group, and whenever he came to Mumbai, we used to meet. He even came for my song launch. I still can’t believe this. Life is really so unpredictable. I woke up to this news and I’m still in shock. He was just 54. Such an amazing human being. I still can’t believe it. Krushna, Rajniesh, and I had done a film together with him, and we had such a good time. It’s just so sad.”
Mukul Dev was the younger brother of veteran actor Rahul Dev. Rahul also confirmed the news and posted an invite on instagram for people to attend the late actor’s cremation on Saturday 5 PM. He expressed his sorrow and mentioned that the actor will be remembered by everyone. He also said that the actor breathed his last peacefully. He performed the last riots for his brother.
In his Instagram story, he wrote, “Our brother Mukul Dev passed away peacefully at New Delhi last night… He’s survived by his daughter Sia Dev. Missed by his siblings Rashmi Kaushal, Rahul Dev and nephew Sidhant Dev. Please join us for cremation at 5 PM.”
Vindu Dara Sigh who was the actor’s close friend and co-star in the movie Son of a Sardar, talked about Mukul’s struggle with depression after his mother passed away. He said, “He was in depression after his mother passed away, he never let that go and was very close to his parents. He would feel alone, and then he would start on a drink and have gutka, then he wouldn’t stop. There was nobody to control him. He was such a wonderful guy and has done a fantastic job in Son of Sardaar 2. Everybody will be clapping and laughing when he speaks, sadly, he won’t be there to enjoy that success.”
