Nadar Kaur Dhillon, an 18-year-old international basketball sensation from Ludhiana, has set her sights on representing India at the highest level following a successful stint at a basketball camp in Dubai. Dhillon, along with fellow Ludhiana Basketball Academy (LBA) trainee Kishanpreet Kaur Mangat, recently returned from an exposure tour in Dubai, where they gained invaluable experience competing against local clubs and honing their skills under international coaching.
The Dubai tour, was part of an initiative by the Basketball Federation of India (BFI) to provide young talents with global exposure. Although Komalpreet Kaur Cheema, another LBA trainee, was initially selected for the tour, she faced visa issues and could not join her teammates. Despite this setback, the experience for Dhillon and Mangat was enriching, with both players participating in various matches and training sessions designed to enhance their performance.
Dhillon’s journey in basketball has been marked by significant milestones. She was among six Indians selected for the prestigious Basketball Without Borders (BWB) Asia camp in Abu Dhabi, where she was mentored by NBA stars and coaches. This exposure has not only refined her skills but also instilled in her a strong ambition to represent India on the international stage.
“Nadar’s dedication and passion for basketball are truly inspiring,” said Teja Singh Dhaliwal, General Secretary of the Punjab Basketball Association. “Her participation in international camps and tours is a testament to her hard work and commitment to the sport.”
As Dhillon continues to pursue her dreams, she remains focused on the challenges ahead. With her sights set on representing India at major international competitions, she is determined to push herself to new heights. Her recent experiences in Dubai and Abu Dhabi have provided her with the confidence and skills needed to excel in the competitive world of basketball.
