Dubai is rapidly transforming its healthcare sector with a focus on AI, precision medicine, and pharmaceutical innovation, and India is emerging as a crucial partner in this ambitious journey. The city aims to become a global hotspot for cutting-edge medical technology, moving beyond traditional healthcare infrastructure.
Dubai’s Healthcare Strategy 2030 emphasizes robotics in surgery, AI-driven illness prediction, and local drug manufacturing to reduce reliance on global supply chains. This initiative aims to cater specifically to the region’s unique healthcare needs. The UAE’s healthcare spending is projected to exceed AED 260 billion by 2030, driven by chronic diseases and an aging population.
Dubai is also aggressively pursuing the medical tourism market, attracting over 700,000 patients in 2023 and generating AED 1 billion in revenue. Indian businesses are seizing this opportunity, with EaseMyTrip recently acquiring a 49% stake in Dubai-based Pflege Home Healthcare to facilitate medical tourism between the two countries.
Wellness is another area of collaboration, with KEF Holdings planning to open a state-of-the-art integrative wellness center in Dubai. In pharmaceutical manufacturing, Himalaya Wellness is establishing a large plant in Dubai Industrial City, marking its first major manufacturing venture in the Middle East.
Indian tech entrepreneurs are also contributing, with Healthigo providing a platform connecting patients to thousands of doctors across Dubai.
With incentives, infrastructure, and a strategic location, Dubai is integrating Indian companies into its healthcare future. This partnership signifies more than just business, shaping the future of healthcare with Dubai’s innovative vision.
