The University of Oklahoma welcomes Nishanth Rodrigues as new CIO

The University of Oklahoma recently announced Nishanth Rodrigues as the new Chief Information Officer with effect from September 30. Founded in 1890, the University of Oklahoma is a public research university located in Norman, Oklahoma. As the state’s flagship university, OU serves the educational, cultural, economic and health care needs of the state, region and nation.

Rodrigues brings 20 years of experience in strategic information technology (IT) leadership, administrative leadership and IT roles in health care. Recently, Rodrigues served as the CIO at Ole Miss since 2017, where he led several major IT initiatives, including the construction of a new data center to enhance research capacity and academic services. Before Ole Miss, Rodrigues served as the Assistant Vice President and Chief Technology Officer at Michigan State University from 2015 to 2017.

Rodrigues has affiliations and valuable connections with the Cisco Higher Education Advisory Council, the Satisfactory Academic Progress Higher Education Research Advisory Council, and the CIO Visions Steering Committee.

He earned his Ed.D. in Education from the University of Mississippi after earning a Master of Business Administration from Michigan State University. Rodrigues earned his undergraduate degree from Davenport University with a Bachelor of Applied Science.
