Simon Wong, Singapore envoy terms Ladakh a “must-make spiritual journey” in India

Simon Wong, Singapore’s High Commissioner to India, has urged individuals to explore Ladakh, a northern Indian region celebrated for its stunning landscapes and spiritual importance. He also said that visiting Ladakh is an opportunity for spiritual experience in India. It is a renowned destination that attracts spiritual seekers and adventure enthusiasts, thanks to its breathtaking landscapes featuring majestic mountains, serene lakes, and ancient monasteries.

He shared a tweet on X on Sunday after visiting Ladakh and stated, “Happy Sunday, everyone! Ladakh is a must-make spiritual journey in Incredible India.”

Ladakh is home to several significant Buddhist sites, such as the Hemis Monastery and the Thiksey Monastery, which offer visitors a glimpse into the rich cultural heritage of the area.

The Singapore envoy’s recent visit to the World Skill Centre in Odisha was marked by his satisfaction with the progress made by the institution. Wong reiterated Singapore’s commitment to supporting the skill development of young people in Odisha, emphasizing the importance of investing in the future generation.

“Visited the @WorldSkillCentr in #Odisha, and I’m happy that it has continued to make good strides. Singapore-Odisha relations are underpinned by our strong cooperation in Skills Development. Singapore will continue supporting the skills development of #Odia youth,” the Singapore envoy said on X. Wong was the inaugural foreign envoy to meet with Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and the deputy chief ministers, KV Singh Deo and Pravati Parida. He was joined by Cheong Ming Foong, the Consul General of the Republic of Singapore.

He also posted that he returned to Delhi following a successful trip to Odisha. “So happy to be back in Delhi after a successful trip to #Odisha. Massive software outage. And I am holding a manual ticket. HC Wong #Crowdstrike #Microsoft #Windows,” said Singapore envoy.

India’s High Commissioner in Singapore highlights that the relationship between India and Singapore is deeply rooted in a millennium of robust commercial, cultural, and interpersonal connections. These ties are founded on mutual values and strategies, economic prospects, and aligned interests on significant matters.
