Uma Satya Sai Gadde, an Indian student, has died in Ohio’s Cleveland, said the Indian Consulate in New York on Friday. It added that a police investigation into the death is underway, and it remains in touch with Gadde’s family in India.
The consulate posted on X,” Deeply saddened by the unfortunate demise of Mr Uma Satya Sai Gadde, an Indian student in Cleveland, Ohio. All possible assistance is being extended, including to transport Mr Uma Gadde’s mortal remains to India at the earliest.” It did not add the cause of Gadde’s death.
This is the 10th such incident reported from US. Mr Gadde’s death is the latest in a string of incidents that have affected the Indian-origin community in the US.
