After GOPIO’s successful meetings in Manhattan and Connecticut, GOPIO invited small and medium businesses for a planning meeting in Edison, New Jersey to launch Central Jersey Chapter of GOPIO Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) on Friday, March 22nd.
One major objective of GCCI is to network 5 million plus small businesses and professional practitioners worldwide. Before the convention in New Jersey, GOPIO has initiated GCCI chapters in the New York area. The meeting was held at Parikh Worldwide Media, ITV Auditorium, Edison, New Jersey.
The meeting was addressed by GOPIO International Chairman Dr. Thomas Abraham, Convention Convener Prakash Shah, Co-Convener and International Coordinator-at-Large Dr. Asha Samant, Int’l. Coordinator-at-Large Nami Kaur, GOPIO-Edison President Pallavi Belwariar, GOPIO-Central Jersey President Kunal Mehta, Community Leader and Businessman Pradeep Kothari, and Radio Zindagi owner and Indian Eye Publisher Sunil Hali. A special guest was New Jersey Assemblyman Sterley Stanley who extended his support for GOPIO Convention 2024 and GOPIO Chamber of Commerce.
GOPIO International was formed in 1989 at the first convention of PIOs held in New York. GOPIO is active in 28 countries with over 78 chapters around the globe. GOPIO Central Jersey (CJ) Chapter was formed in 2008. GOPIO-CJ serves as a non-partisan, secular, civic and community service organization, which provides a global forum to foster fellowship and enhance networking. It helps promote awareness of Indian culture, customs and contributions of PIOs through community programs, forums, events and youth activities. It seeks to strengthen partnerships and create an ongoing dialogue with local communities.
The Global Organization of People of Indian Origin (GOPIO)’s convention is scheduled for April 26-28, 2024, to be held at the Royal Albert Palace in New Jersey.
