On January 27, 2024, the members of Indian Seniors of Chicago organized a program to celebrate the Republic Day of India and took out the Shobha Yatra of Ram Rath. On the occasion, Indian Seniors of Chicago ran for the benefit of the senior brothers and sisters at Manav Seva Mandir in Bensenville village near Chicago.
The festivity also included celebration of Members’ birthdays and new members were introduced and felicitated at the event. Post that Bipin Shah who was dressed up as the Indian national flag bearer, Jyotsna Shah as Bharat Mata, Shivabhai as Gandhiji, Saroj Patel as Sushma Swaraj, Ramesh Patel as Adityanath Yogi, Nalin and Chandrika Shah as Gujarati Nagar Seth added the nationalistic fervor to the grand event.
The commemoration was marked by the Ram Rath which was led by Group President Narsinghbhai Patel. Vinubhai Darji and Geeta Suthar and other members took part in the procession to Ram Rath.
Bhupendra Suthar who was N.C.C., held a ‘C’ certificate and attained the rank of Lieutenant, presided over the Republic Day celebrations at the event. The Group president was invited to salute the national flag and the national anthem was sung while the flag was unfurled. Electrifying the environment, Pushpa Parekh sang ‘Ae Mere Vatan Ke Logo’ in his melodious voice and got all the members feeling a sense of patriotism. The celebration was concluded with a delicious meal made for the purpose.
