Chitkara University hosted ‘The International Conference on Recent Innovations in Clinical and Translational Approaches in Pharmaceutical Sciences (RICTAPS 2023)’ on the 24th and 25th of November 2023, organized by Chitkara College of Pharmacy, Chitkara University, Punjab. This gathering served as a commemoration of the influential legacy of Padma Shri Prof. (Dr.) Harkishan Singh, a luminary in the field. The event not only acknowledged contemporary achievements but also paid homage to Dr. Harkishan Singh’s lasting contributions.
Many distinguished personalities of Pharmaceutical Sciences graced the occasion, including Dr. Deependra Singh, Chairman, Education Regulations Committee, Pharmacy Council of India; H S Panaser, Chairman, Global Indian Trade and Cultural Council, USA as Chief Guest.
The conference commenced with a poignant inaugural ceremony, featuring tributes and anecdotes underscoring Dr. Harkishan Singh’s pivotal role. Renowned experts, including those with designations such as Chairman, CEO, President, Director, Co-Founder, and Vice President, delivered keynote addresses, setting the tone of the conference. Mr. Panaser spoke on the topic “Artificial Intelligence in the Pharmaceutical Industry.
It was a humbling experience to honor Prof Harkishan Singh’s legacy in this event. Chitkara University also honored Dr. Manjeet Kaur (daughter of Prof. Harkishan Singh) and his granddaughters Ajooni and Alicia Kaur.
His family members thanked the Chitkara family, the governing board, and the dean of the college of pharmacy for organizing this two-day conference and also initiating the following three Awards in the name of the Doyen of Pharmaceutical Education and Research Prof Harkishan Singh:
- Dr. Harkishan Singh Best Pharmacy Teachers Award
- Prof. (Dr.) Harkishan Singh Startup Award, and
- Prof. (Dr.) Harkishan Singh Emerging Pharmaceutical Industry Award
