Padukone becomes the first Indian to attend the Academy Museum Gala in Los Angeles

Deepika Padukone has once again emerged as an international star, as she became the first Indian to attend the Academy Museum Gala in Los Angeles. The Academy Museum Gala is the second largest stage in the world after the Oscars, organized by the same board. Padukone started year 2023 with a bang when presented Naatu Naatu at the Oscars. Deepika Padukone joined celebrities such as singers Selena Gomez and Dua Lipa as well as Hollywood A-listers Natalie Portman, and Meryl Streep at the event.
The star-studded red carpet delivered some breathtaking moments when Deepika Padukone sashayed in a velvet blue gown and lots of statement diamond jewelry.
On the work front, year 2023 proved a blockbuster for Padukone as she delivered two of the most smashing hits with Pathaan and Jawan breaking records by earning more than Rs 2,200 crore worldwide. She also graced the cover of Time magazine. Now the actor has two big releases slated for the next year. In the month of January, Nag Ashwin’s Kalki 2898 AD and Sidharth Anand’s Fighter will release on the big screen. While she’ll share screen space with Hrithik for the first time in YRF’s Fighter, said to be India’s first film in a planned aerial action franchise.
On the other hand, she will be seen opposite Bahubali’s famed actor Prabhas in the upcoming Indian epic science fiction dystopian film Kalki 2898 AD. It is written and directed by Nag Ashwin and produced by C Aswani Dutt of Vyjayanthi Movies.
The annual Academy Museum Gala aims to raise funds for the museum’s exhibitions and public programming. The gala also saw special celebrity guests such as Meryl Streep, Michael B Jordan, Oprah Winfrey, and Sofia Coppola, being honored for their contributions to cinema and storytelling.
