Tanishka Dhariwal, a teenage Indian American girl has collected and donated more than $10,000 to the PM Cares fund to help the victims of the tragic triple train incident in Odisha’s Balasore district earlier this year. This multiple-train collision has been termed as the deadliest train accident in India for the last 20 years, resulting in the death of nearly 300 people and injuring about 900 people.

The funds, thus collected by Dhariwal will be used for providing medical treatment to the victims and giving support to their families in need.

Dhariwal is just 16 years old and is a youth member of the Rajasthan Association of North America (RANA). For this noble cause, she started a GoFundMe page to collect funds for the victims of this triple-train accident. In her appeal she wrote, “According to a key witness, he woke up on the train due to screeching; however, when he opened his eyes, he found 10-15 people dismembered, limbless, mangled, and dead before his eyes.”

Dhariwal presented the relief funds thus raised to Randhir Jaiswal, the Consul General of India in New York. These funds will be used for medical treatment and to support the families of the victims who have lost their lives and are undergoing treatment.
