Overseas Congress celebrates Karnataka victory as it prepares for Rahul Gandhi’s visit to US

The Indian National Overseas Congress celebrated the victory of the Congress Party in Karnataka in a grand manner in Chicago. The special guests where Overseas Congress Chairman – Shri Sam Pitroda and Former Indian Cricket Captain Mohammad Azharuddin. The event was hosted by Ifteqar Sheriff and Krishna Mushyam along with others. The Overseas Congress was represented by Vice President Rajender Dichpally.

The event was attended by over 150 eminent people from Chicago.

Speaking at the event Chairman Sam Pitroda told the audience of the forthcoming visit of Rahul Gandhi to USA and asked the community to support his public event in New York. He said that the victory of Karnataka will be the beginning of the rise of the Congress Party in India and the party will regain its former glory and win the 2024 elections in India. Former Member of Parliament and Cricketer Azharuddin said that he was confident of the party’s victory in Karnataka during his campaign in the state as he saw a big response from congress rallies and the support of the people to the party. He said he was willing to work in whatever capacity the party wants to entrust to him. Ifteqar sheriff said that the party victory is a very good sign for secular and progressive forces in India and was confident that the congress will fare well in 2024.

Rajender Dichpally said that the effects of Rahul Gandhi’s “Bharat Jodo Yatra” was beginning to bear fruit and the victory of the congress in Karnataka will give momentum to the party ahead of the 2024 elections. Krishna Mushyam gave a vote of thanks and also quoted a couplet by Rahul Gandhi on spreading love that he believes in versus spreading hatred and false narrative as being done with RSS/BJP in India. The meeting ended with a sumptuous Hyderabadi dinner and desserts.
