The Delhi based musical band will be performing in sold out venues at New York and Los Angeles
Delhi-based indie band, Peter Cat Recording Co. is making their North American debut with a 29-show tour across Canada and the United States, beginning on April 25.
The five-member band has been making waves in the music scene since their formation in 2009, due to their unique blend of vintage appeal, contemporary indie rock, jazz, swing, and blues.
The Delhi based has brought forth the city’s soul-rich history and cultural diversity in their music. From the streets of Old Delhi to the posh neighborhoods of South Delhi, Peter Cat Recording Co. (PCRC) captured the essence of the city in their music.
The members Suryakant Sawhney (vocalist and guitarist), Dhruv Bhola (bassist), Karan Singh (drummer), Kartik Pillai (guitarist), and Rohit Gupta (keyboardist) have amassed a loyal fan base and critical acclaim in India and abroad. “This is extremely exciting. But I am a bit anxious personally as I’ve never had to sing for 30 days in a row. Call it ‘performance anxiety’,” laughs Suryakant ‘Sinatra’ Sawhney, PCRC’s founder and principal songwriter and composer.
Following the announcement of their American Spring tour in January 2023, 50 percent of the tickets were purchased across venues in 48 hours. The shows in New York and Los Angeles, sold out in minutes as the band has the largest share of online listeners in America, despite not having spent any marketing dollars in the region.
The band’s tour itinerary includes cities like Montreal, Toronto, Brooklyn, New York, Washington, Philadelphia, Boston, Chicago, Nashville, Dallas, and more. About 25 shows have already sold out for full-capacity gigs in upgraded venues.
