Dr Sampat Shivangi, MD, who is the Chairman of the Mississippi State Department Of Mental Health and a Member National Advisory Council SAMHSA, Washington DC, was in London, UK, recently to participate in an event to honor Indian Diaspora members.
The event was organized at the House of Lords in British Parliament on March 7-8, 2023. It was attended by members of the Diaspora in the UK, US and other European countries.
A highly respected and senior member of the House of Lords, Lord Swaraj Paul, was instrumental in organizing this event with other eminent members, including Lord Karan Bilimoria and Lord Rami Ranger, a business tycoon. All three are billionaires and proud Indians in United Kingdom. “It was such a wonderful experience and opportunity to meet these British Indian billionaires who have made their strides in the UK,” said Dr Sampat.
Speaking about the event, Dr Sampat said that Lord Swaraj Paul “was gracious enough to invite me to his home in the evening and had a such great exchange of memories of my meetings with earlier Prime Ministers of India, such as Indira Gandhi and Atal Behari Vajpayee.
