Christmas in the times of Covid-19: Bollywood keeps the spirits up with cheers

As the Christmas celebrations were being kept at a minimum and large gathering are next to impossible amid the pandemic, Bollywood celebrities extended greetings to their fans to lighten their spirit in this festive season. several Bollywood stars including Dharmendra, Deol, Akshay Kumar, Madhuri Dixit, Sonakshi Sinha, Riteish Deshmukh, among many others sent greetings to their fans and wished them good health. The ‘Yamla Pagla Deewana’ actor, Deol took to Twitter and wrote, “Friends, Merry Christmas and Happy new year to you all.”

Penning down a special Christmas wish for his fans, Akshay Kumar took to his Instagram story and wrote, “It is the season to be jolly…may you find many reasons for this year. Merry Christmas.”

By sharing a video dressed in red attire, and a Christmassy filter, Dixit extended her greetings on the occasion via Instagram. Along with the video, she noted, “One of the best times of the year. Merry Christmas everyone.”

Sonakshi Sinha posted a video on Instagram with snow filter as she danced across the hall, and made choices between elf and Santa, plum cake and candies. Along with the video, Sinha wrote, “CHRISTMAS IS HEEERE!! And ive made my choices… what about you?? #MerryChristmas everyone (with a Christmas tree and Santa emoticon).”

Posing along with her four-legged friend who is seen sporting a red cap, Sonali Bendre extended greetings on Instagram. She wrote, “Our Christmas blessing. Happy Birthday #LittleMissIcy… and a Merry Cherry Christmas everyone.”

Kareena Kapoor took to her Instagram handle to share a glimpse of her Christmas eve dinner party and penned a beautiful note for her fans which read, “That warm, fuzzy feeling… Merry Xmas people (along with red heart emojis)”

“Wish you all a Merry Christmas and a safe holiday season!MerryChristmas,” wrote Ajay Devgn on Instagram as he extended greetings on the festival.

By sharing an adorable family picture on Instagram, Riteish Deshmukh sent Christmas greetings to his fans, He noted, “From our family to yours, wishing you a Merry X’Mas. Love, Light, Happiness & Good Health. – Rahyl, Riaan, Genelia & Me.”

Shilpa Shetty Kundra recently posted a fun video on Instagram to wish fans on the occasion of Christmas. “Enjoying a virtual holiday! Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays from the Kundra’s. Dancing into 2021 with hope, positivity and safer travels,” Shilpa had captioned the video which featured her family dancing away to the tunes of ‘Jingle Bells’, wrote Shilpa.

Bollywood star Kartik Aaryan on Friday wished fans a Merry Christmas in ‘Dhamaka’ style. The 30-year old actor who has been shooting for his upcoming thriller flick ‘Dhamaka’ sent Christmas wishes to his fans on social media. However, the wish was a little different as Aaryan signed himself as Arjun Pathak, the character he will be portraying in his film. In the picture shared by the ‘Love Aaj Kal’ star, he is seen sporting the look of Arjun Pathak, donning the official blue blazer with matching tie and white shirt with blood strains. To give a humorous touch to the picture, Aaryan wore a Santa Claus dancing ear red headband as he flashed his radiant smile for the camera.

Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor wished his fans on Christmas by sharing a selfie with his wife Mira Rajput on Friday. The ‘Kabir Singh’ star took to his Instagram handle on Friday and shared a selfie and wished fans. “Merry Christmas everyone,” the caption wrote. The couple can be seen sitting together outside under the sunlight and posing for the camera.

Megastar Salman Khan on Friday shared a special version of the Christmas carol – Jingle Bells – played on Indian musical instruments. The ‘Sultan’ actor took to Instagram to share a video that sees five men playing the famous carol on Indian instruments sitting in front of a Christmas tree. The men are seen dressed in the Santa Claus outfit and playing Indian musical instruments like Sitar, Sarangi, Shehnai, and Dhol.

The 54-year-old actor went on to promote communal harmony through his greetings as he wished people from different religions “Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, Isai (christians)” on the occasion. “Merry Christmas, Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, Isai… wishing all a merry xmas,” he wrote in the caption.

Bollywood pours wishes as legend turns 64

As the forever young Bollywood actor Anil Kapoor turned 64 on Friday, his co-actors and friends from the industry flooded the internet with special birthday greetings to make the day special. Actor Kareena Kapoor wished Bollywood’s trendsetter Anil Kapoor with a throwback picture from their movie ‘Tashan’on Instagram story captioned, “Happy birthday Anil jiii…My forever favorite. May we always give it our best shot in life or in front of the camera. Always the best #legend @anilskapoor,” with red heart and balloon emoticons. Fellow actor Neetu Kapoor also sent a heartwarming wish for Anil by posting a picture from the birthday celebrations on their ‘Jug Jug Jiyo’ movie set. Neetu wrote, “Celebrating the most talented, charismatic and never ageing @anilskapoor ‘s birthday. Such a pleasure to work with him and the entire crew of #JJJ,” using a growing red heart emoticon. Thanking the ‘Mr. India’ star for always inspiring him, Bollywood actor Rajkummar Rao shared a picture featuring him with Anil on the story sharing feature of the micro-blogging app.

Superstar’s health is ‘stable’, medication given 

The health of superstar Rajinikanth who was admitted to Apollo hospital due to fluctuating blood pressure and exhaustion on Friday morning is stable now.

“He is being monitored closely and medications to control his blood pressure are being carefully titrated. He will remain in the hospital tonight and undergo further investigations tomorrow,” said Apollo Hospital, Hyderabad in an official statement. Family and doctors have requested all well-wishers to avoid visiting the hospital as he is not being allowed to meet any visitors. Governor of Telangana Tamilisai Soundararajan called and spoke to the doctors and wished for his speedy recovery. The ‘Kabali’ actor had been shooting for ‘Annaatthe’ in Hyderabad for the last few days. The shoot halted after crew members tested positive for COVID-19.

Actor gets nostalgic as ‘3 Idiots’ clocks 11 years

As his superhit flick ‘3 Idiots’ clocked 11 years on Friday, actor R Madhavan reflected on the experience of shooting for the film and said that he knew it was going to be iconic, even before it had hit the silver screen. “I knew it even before we released it, I knew it when I read the script and told Raju (Rajkumar Hirani, director) it is going to be difficult for him to beat this film later on, ” he said. “I always knew it is going to be iconic, related to every aspect of that story. Yes, it does seem like 11 years have flown by, and yet it’s still fresh in our minds,” the 50-year-old actor added. Madhavan had played the role of Farhan Qureshi, an aspiring photographer who ends up pursuing engineering for the sake of his parents. What he feels connected most with the people about his character was his heartfelt conversation with his dad, played by Parikshit Sahni.

“Every youngster has had a conversation like that with their parent. It has become synonymous with the struggle of the younger generation, to prove their individuality,” the ‘Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein’ actor said.
