United States President Donald Trump has presented Prime Minister Narendra Modi with the prestigious Legion of Merit, a top US honor, for his leadership in elevating India and US strategic partnership, National Security Advisor Robert C O’ Brien informed.
Indian Ambassador to the United States Taranjit Singh Sandhu accepted the medal on the behalf of Prime Minister Modi.
The Legion of Merit was established in 1942 by an act of Congress. Previous awardees of the Legion of Merit include Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison and former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.
