Sun Pharma, Lupin and Dr Reddy’s recall drugs in US market

According to the reports coming from the health regulator of the United States, major domestic drug manufacturers are recalling drugs from the country. Big time drug companies like Sun Pharma, Lupin and Dr Reddy’s Laboratories are recalling drugs in the United States market citing issues in manufacturing and mix up of their products

As per the latest Enforcement Report of the Food and Drug Administration of the US, the Mumbai-based headquarters of drug manufacturers Sun Pharmaceutical Industries have issued the return of 5,448 bottles of a generic medication in the country.

The company based in Princeton is recalling the affected lot of Lisdexamfetamine Dimesylate capsules stating ‘Failed Dissolution Specifications’ as the reason behind it. These medications are used to treat attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. The health regulator has stated that the drug firm on June 16th, 2025 initiated the Class II recall in the country on June 16 this year.

As far as the Naples-based Lupin Pharmaceuticals Inc is concerned, they have issued the return of  Lisinopril and Hydrochlorothiazide tablets. The affected lot which has been recalled was manufactured at the company’s Nagpur-based manufacturing facility. They initiated the recall on June 20th, 2025 citing ‘Product Mix Up’ as the reason.

It was reported by USFDA that the product is being recalled by Lupin Pharmaceuticals Inc after they received a complaint stating that a sealed bottle of lisinopril and hydrochlorothiazide tablets 20mg/12.5 mg had a foreign tablet identified as atazanavir and ritonavir tablet 300mg/100mg.

For the drug manufacturers, Dr Reddy’s Laboratories the health regulator has claimed that they have recalled 1,476 bottles of Omeprazole Delayed-release capsules which are used to treat certain stomach and esophagus problems. The company issued the Class II recall of these drugs on June 30th this year and the recall was due to the presence of foreign Divalproex Sodium extended-release 250mg tablets in a bottle of omeprazole capsules,
