The Parrish Art Museum is pleased to announce the appointment of Ruchira Bhuyan, a distinguished leader to its Board of Trustees. Her wealth of expertise in strategy, communications, and fundraising will further strengthen the Museum’s mission to celebrate art, artists, and the East End’s artistic legacy and expand access to the arts for the surrounding community and beyond. Ruchira is one of the seven appointees to The Parrish Art Museum’s Board of Trustees.

“Their unique perspectives, expertise, and talents will catapult the Parrish well into the future. I am very excited to be working closely with these new and amazing Trustees,” said Mónica Ramírez-Montagut, Executive Director of the Parrish Art Museum.

Ruchira has extensive experience in strategy, communications, and fundraising, developed through a career spanning the public and private sectors, as well as significant involvement with nonprofit institutions. Ruchira previously worked for the Canadian Consulate General in New York, where she specialized in communications and public affairs, before transitioning to retail media and communication roles at Amazon and Walmart.

Co-Chairs Frederic Seegal and Alexandra Stanton added, “With the appointment of these seven exceptional new Trustees, the Parrish is well-positioned to enter 2025 with excitement and momentum.”

Currently, Ruchira serves as a Board Member for The International Preschools (IPS) in New York and leads Annual and Campaign Giving initiatives at The Collegiate School. She also serves on the Family Benefit and Leadership Committees at the American Museum of Natural History and the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Additionally, Ruchira is a Committee Member for Children’s Hope India, a nonprofit organization focused on building schools in rural areas of India for underprivileged children. Together with her husband, she has introduced AI-driven tutors to address teacher shortages and personalize the curriculum for a girls’ school with over 650 students.

Founded in 1898, the Parrish Art Museum has been a vital cultural presence on the East End of Long Island from its inception. The museum expanded—from a single exhibition hall in Southampton Village built by Samuel Longstreth Parrish to showcase his collection, to its relocation in 2012 to a light-filled, purpose-built facility in Water Mill, New York.
