JBM Group has officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Singapore’s Keppel at the 29th Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Partnership Summit in New Delhi. This strategic partnership aims to accelerate the energy transition and promote sustainable urban infrastructure through innovative solutions in e-mobility and e-waste management.
The agreement was signed in the presence of Piyush Goyal, India’s Minister of Commerce and Industry, highlighting the growing collaboration between India and Singapore, especially in sustainability and advanced manufacturing. Goyal noted that this partnership aligns with India’s priorities, including the India Cooling Action Plan, and is expected to foster economic growth while paving the way for a sustainable future.
Nishant Arya, Vice Chairman of JBM Group, expressed optimism about the collaboration, stating that it represents a significant step towards achieving global decarbonization goals. He emphasized that the combined expertise of JBM in electric vehicles and Keppel’s capabilities in clean energy will lead to transformative outcomes in clean energy and electro-mobility.
Keppel’s CEO for Infrastructure Division, Cindy Lim, highlighted India’s increasing electricity demand due to urbanization and economic growth. She stated that this partnership positions Keppel to contribute meaningfully to India’s sustainable development goals.
Both companies plan to develop projects focusing on electric vehicle charging networks, battery energy storage systems, and resource recovery facilities. They aim to create customized solutions that address the rising demand for sustainable development in commercial sectors while managing e-waste effectively.
This partnership is particularly timely as India celebrates 60 years of diplomatic relations with Singapore in 2025. The collaboration is expected to redefine the sustainability landscape, driving innovation and fostering a resilient future for communities in both nations.
