The Indian consulate in San Francisco, in yet another incident of vandalism, was set on fire on Sunday by Khalistani radicals

The Indian consulate in San Francisco, United States, was set on fire in the wee hours of Sunday. This is the second attack on the consulate after Khalistan supporters vandalized the consulate in March when the Punjab Police launched a massive crackdown against Amritpal Singh and his aides.
The attempted arson at the Indian consulate was allegedly done by Khalistani supporters between 1.30 am and 2.30 am. However, it was quickly doused by the San Francisco fire department and no major damage was reported with no staffers getting injured in the incident.
Khalistan supporters reportedly did so in connection with the death of Canada-based Khalistan Tiger Force (KTF) chief Hardeep Singh Nijjar, one of India’s most-wanted terrorists. He carried a bounty of Rs 10 lakh on his head and was shot dead outside a gurdwara in Canada last month.
In response to the attempted arson, US State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller stated on Twitter, “The U.S. strongly condemns the reported vandalism and attempted arson against the Indian Consulate in San Francisco. Vandalism or violence against diplomatic facilities or foreign diplomats in the U.S. is a criminal offense.”
