India have announced their squads for the upcoming white-ball series against the West Indies, with Rishabh Pant and Hardik Pandya missing from both the ODI and T20I teams. The selection also marks the return of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli to the ODI setup, while two uncapped players earn their maiden call-ups.

The three-match ODI series will begin on September 27 in Thiruvananthapuram, followed by matches in Guwahati and New Chandigarh. The five-match T20I series will be played from October 6 to 17.

Shubman Gill will lead the ODI side, with KL Rahul as vice-captain. The squad includes Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Ravindra Jadeja. Punjab all-rounder Naman Dhir and Jammu and Kashmir seamer Auqib Nabi have been included for the first time in an ODI squad.

The T20I team will be captained by Shreyas Iyer, with Tilak Varma as vice-captain. The squad features Abhishek Sharma, Sanju Samson, Ishan Kishan, Axar Patel and Arshdeep Singh, alongside 15-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi.

Pandya’s absence comes as selectors assess his return to competitive cricket and his ability to bowl the full quota required of an ODI all-rounder. Pant, meanwhile, has been named captain of the Rest of India side for the Irani Cup against Ranji Trophy champions Jammu and Kashmir.

Jasprit Bumrah will also miss the West Indies series as he is part of India’s Asian Games squad. Shreyas Iyer and Axar Patel will miss the ODI leg due to Asian Games commitments but are available for the T20Is.

The selections underline India’s preparations for the 2027 ODI World Cup while providing opportunities to emerging players across formats.
