India’s top-ranked men’s squash player Abhay Singh defeated Hong Kong’s Henry Leung 3-2 to win the Tuanku Muhriz Trophy 2026 in Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia, on Sunday, securing his 13th PSA Tour title.
The top-seeded Singh overcame Leung, the third seed and world No. 59, 11-7, 6-11, 3-11, 11-5, 12-10 in a closely contested final of the PSA Challenger Tour 15 event. The 49-minute encounter saw Singh recover after falling 1-2 behind to seal the deciding game and the title.
The victory is Singh’s second PSA Tour title of 2026, following his triumph at the Indian Open in Mumbai in March. It also marks his third Tuanku Muhriz Trophy crown, having previously won the tournament in 2022 and 2024.
Ranked 24th in the world, Singh entered the Malaysian tournament as the top seed and negotiated a demanding route to the final. He defeated Malaysia’s Low Wa Sern in the second round before overcoming Md Syafiq Kamal in the quarterfinals. In the semifinals, Singh edged another Malaysian opponent, Ameeshenraj Chandaran, 7-11, 11-9, 11-7, 7-11, 11-3 in a five-game battle.
The latest title adds further momentum to Singh’s 2026 campaign as he prepares for the Asian Games in Japan next month. He is expected to compete in the men’s singles and team events.
Singh was part of India’s gold-medal-winning men’s squash team at the 2023 Asian Games in Hangzhou and also won bronze in mixed doubles. With squash set to make its Olympic debut at the Los Angeles 2028 Games, Singh’s consistent performances have strengthened India’s presence on the international squash circuit.
