Actor Taapsee Pannu has revealed that she has not yet watched her upcoming film Gandhari, despite being at the centre of the project’s promotional campaign. The actor said she remains “stress-free” about the film and is comfortable with how the project has shaped up.
Pannu, who plays Bani, a mother searching for her missing daughter in the action thriller, spoke about the film and her collaboration with writer-producer Kanika Dhillon. The two have previously worked together on several projects, making Gandhari another significant collaboration in their creative partnership.
The actor’s comments come shortly before the film’s scheduled September 3 premiere on Netflix. The film follows Bani as she confronts a dangerous criminal underworld while trying to find her daughter. The story combines action with an emotional mother-daughter narrative, with Pannu describing the character’s determination and refusal to give up as one of the aspects that drew her to the role.
Pannu has also spoken about the physical demands of the role, highlighting the resilience and conviction required to portray Bani. Unlike a conventional action protagonist, her character is driven primarily by her determination to reunite with her child.
Written and produced by Kanika Dhillon, Gandhari marks another female-led collaboration between Dhillon and Pannu. The project has generated attention ahead of its release, both for its action-heavy premise and its focus on a mother at the centre of the story.
The film is set to premiere globally on Netflix on September 3, giving audiences an opportunity to see Pannu in another physically demanding and emotionally driven role.
