Hollywood actor and singer Tyrese Gibson, best known for his role as Roman Pearce in the Fast & Furious franchise, has described his recent India visit as a transformative spiritual experience, saying the journey helped him explore meditation, gratitude and inner peace.
Gibson, who visited Mumbai, shared glimpses of his spiritual journey on social media, revealing that he came to India not merely as a tourist but as a pilgrim seeking personal growth and a deeper connection with himself. The actor posted pictures and videos from his temple visit, where he participated in traditional rituals, including offering prayers and performing aarti.
During his visit, Gibson reflected on the significance of India’s spiritual heritage and highlighted the global influence of Mahatma Gandhi’s philosophy. He drew a connection between Gandhi’s teachings and the journey of civil rights leader Dr Martin Luther King Jr., who had travelled to India to study Gandhi’s principles of non-violence.
The actor said his time in India was focused on learning meditation and embracing stillness as part of a search for peace of mind, body and spirit. He also expressed gratitude towards those who welcomed him during his stay, describing the experience as deeply meaningful and timely.
Gibson’s visit was made more special by the presence of his childhood friend Kenyatta, with whom he shared memories of a long-standing bond. The actor said travelling with someone who had been part of his life journey added emotional value to the experience.
The Hollywood star’s spiritual retreat in India comes alongside his continued work in the entertainment industry. Gibson is set to reprise his popular character Roman Pearce in Fast X: Part 2 (Fast Forever), the concluding chapter of the main Fast & Furious series. He is also attached to several upcoming film projects and production ventures.
Gibson’s reflections on India have highlighted the country’s enduring reputation as a destination for global personalities seeking spiritual learning, mindfulness and cultural experiences beyond conventional tourism.
