At 75, Rajinikanth continues to dominate the box office, with his latest release Jailer 2 setting a new record in the Kannada-dubbed film category by surpassing Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2: The Rule. The film has earned approximately Rs 9.5 crore through its Kannada-dubbed version, making it the highest-grossing Kannada-dubbed film to date.

Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, Jailer 2 has also crossed the Rs 800-crore mark worldwide, becoming the first Tamil film to achieve the milestone. According to box-office tracking figures, the film collected Rs 812 crore globally by its 19th day in theatres, including Rs 537.75 crore from the Indian market. Its Kannada version has surpassed the previous record held by Pushpa 2, further expanding the film’s success across regional markets.

The achievement adds another milestone to Rajinikanth’s five-decade-long career. At 75, the actor has 12 films in the Rs 100-crore worldwide collection club. His highest-grossing films include Jailer 2, 2.0, Jailer, Kabali and Enthiran. Three of these films have crossed the Rs 600-crore mark, highlighting his continued popularity among audiences.

Released on October 15, Jailer 2 brings Rajinikanth back as retired jailer Tiger Muthuvel Pandian. The film also features SJ Suryah, Vidya Balan, Mithun Chakraborty, Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu and Suraj Venjaramoodu in key roles. Anirudh Ravichander has composed the music.

The film’s performance reflects Rajinikanth’s enduring appeal beyond Tamil cinema and the growing reach of dubbed regional films. With audiences across different language markets contributing to its collections, the superstar continues to strengthen his position as one of Indian cinema’s most commercially successful actors.
