Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has unveiled a new poster of his upcoming action thriller King, showcasing a rugged, bloodied appearance with a rose between his lips and a gun in his hand. The film, directed by Siddharth Anand, is scheduled to release in theatres on December 24, 2026.

Sharing the poster on social media on Tuesday, Khan wrote, “Aaj phir yaad aaya… Qaatil nahi… Aashiq hoon…” (Today, I remembered again… I am not a killer, I am a lover), adding to the anticipation surrounding the film.

The poster features the actor walking through a fiery, smoke-filled setting, with short, greying hair, facial hair and an intense expression. The contrast between the rose and the weapon hints at the film’s combination of romance and high-octane action.

The dialogue has also drawn comparisons with Khan’s 1999 film Baadshah, particularly its title track, “Aashiq Hoon Main, Qaatil Bhi Hoon”. The reference has prompted nostalgia among fans familiar with the actor’s earlier screen persona.

King marks Khan’s reunion with director Siddharth Anand following their collaboration on Pathaan (2023). The upcoming film also features Suhana Khan, Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan and Rani Mukerji, alongside Anil Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, Jaideep Ahlawat and Raghav Juyal.

The project is produced by Gauri Khan, Siddharth Anand and Mamta Anand under Red Chillies Entertainment and Marflix Pictures. Suhana Khan’s presence marks the first time she will share the screen with her father in a film.

The December release will mark Khan’s return to theatres following his three-film run in 2023, when Pathaan, Jawan and Dunki were released. With its Christmas release date and action-driven promotional campaign, King is shaping up to be one of the major Hindi film releases of the year.
