Actor Anushka Sharma has been placed fourth on a global list of the most-followed wives and partners of sports personalities, making her the only Indian and the only cricket partner among the top five, according to a ranking by Vantix. The list places Sharma alongside internationally recognised names such as Kim Kardashian and Taylor Swift.
Kim Kardashian, identified on the list as the partner of Formula 1 driver Lewis Hamilton, occupies the first position with 343 million followers. Singer Taylor Swift, who is married to NFL player Travis Kelce, follows with 272 million, while Georgina Rodriguez, partner of footballer Cristiano Ronaldo, is third with 78.3 million followers. Virginia Fonseca, partner of footballer Vinicius Junior, completes the top five with 56.5 million followers.
Sharma’s inclusion reflects the scale of her social media following and her visibility across both the Indian entertainment industry and international popular culture. She has built an established career as an actor and producer and is married to Indian cricketer Virat Kohli.
The Vantix ranking includes 22 women whose combined social media following stands at 1.21 billion. Football has the largest number of representatives, with 11 women collectively accounting for 341.3 million followers. American football has five representatives with a combined following of 376.5 million.
The report also notes that the term “WAG”, traditionally associated with the partners of footballers, has expanded in popular culture. The women featured on the list include actors, singers, entrepreneurs, creators, athletes and other public figures who have developed audiences and careers independently.
Sharma’s position also marks the representation of cricket in the top five. Her public profile extends beyond her relationship with Kohli through her work in Hindi cinema, film production, brand partnerships and other professional ventures.
The ranking highlights the growing intersection of sports, entertainment and social media, where established public figures can command substantial audiences independent of their partners’ sporting careers.
