In the heart of summer, where the sun kisses the shimmering waters and gentle breezes carry the promise of laughter and togetherness, the Senior Citizens Club USA embarked on a memorable one-day journey to Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. On Sunday, July 19, 2026, more than just a trip, this outing became a vibrant celebration of life, friendship, and the enduring bonds that make the golden years truly golden.
The adventure began bright and early at 7:00 am from the Movie Max theater parking lot in Niles, Illinois. Under the dedicated coordination of Mukesh Mehta, Sunil Shah RN, K C Patel, Jayshree Pandya, and Usha Ray, members gathered with excitement, equipped with hats, comfortable walking shoes, routine medicines, umbrellas, water bottles, and light snacks ready for whatever the day might bring. With pleasant weather forecast at 86 to 67 degrees Fahrenheit and only a 10% chance of rain, the stage was perfectly set for an unforgettable experience.
As the group settled in, the air filled with the aroma of a hearty breakfast featuring fafda, jalebi, and marcha, accompanied by steaming tea and coffee. This warm start fueled both bodies and spirits before the bus rolled out at 8 am toward the scenic shores of Lake Geneva. By 10 am, the group arrived at Seminary Park, where they had thoughtfully reserved shaded areas to ensure comfort throughout the day.

The program opened with a warm welcome drink and a soulful Ganpati Stuti led by Chairperson Mrs. Pinky Dinesh Thakkar, invoking blessings for a harmonious and joyful gathering. The celebration then took on a patriotic hue, honoring the 250th anniversary of American Independence, 80 years of India Independence and 65 years of Vande Matram. Members stood proudly for the National Anthem of the USA, followed by the Indiana national anthem, creating a moving moment of unity and gratitude for the nation that has welcomed so many.
Birthdays and anniversaries of July were warmly recognized, allowing the club family to shower love and good wishes to its cherished members. These personal milestones added an intimate, heartfelt touch, reminding everyone that in this club, no celebration is too small and no member is overlooked.
A light yet satisfying lunch followed at 11:30 am, featuring five delectable items and sweets that brought smiles and satisfied appetites. Then came the highlight for many leisurely walks from 12 to 4 pm through the charming market area and along the breathtaking lakefront. The scenic path offered stunning views, fresh air, and plenty of opportunities for photographs, conversations, and quiet reflection. Those seeking extra adventure had the option to join a separate boat tour (not included in the package), allowing them to experience the lake’s beauty from the water.

By 4 pm, the group reconvened at Seminary Park, where a delicious dinner awaited at 4:30 pm. As the sun began its descent, the return journey started at 5:30 pm, with the bus arriving back at the Movie Max parking lot around 7 pm. Throughout the day, organizers ensured a steady flow of food, fresh fruits, snacks, juices, water, chocolates, and non-stop entertainment. Karaoke sessions, music, and spontaneous dancing turned travel time into a rolling party, filling the bus with joy and melody.
This Lake Geneva trip perfectly embodied the spirit of the Senior Citizens Club USA, a well-known and vibrant community that gathers monthly to celebrate life, friendship, and togetherness. Far more than a social group, the club has become a close-knit family where seniors from diverse backgrounds come together to rejuvenate, recharge, and create lasting memories. They mark birthdays, observe major Hindu festivals, and organize outings filled with delicious food, music, laughter, and meaningful connection.
Under the dynamic leadership of Chairperson Pinky Thakkar, the club continues to flourish with enthusiasm and creativity. Described by members as not only an exceptional leader but also a true friend to everyone, Falguni brings positive energy, genuine care, and innovative ideas to every event. Whether planning festive celebrations, cultural programs, picnics, or recreational getaways like this Lake Geneva trip, she ensures every participant feels welcomed, valued, and inspired.
The club’s monthly gatherings have become lifelines for many seniors, offering a space to step away from daily routines and immerse themselves in joy and camaraderie. From sharing stories about home-cooked favorites to singing beloved songs and dancing with abandon, these events nurture both body and soul. The Lake Geneva outing exemplified this beautifully blending nature’s serenity with cultural pride, patriotic spirit, and simple human connection.
