Actress Preity Zinta made a striking fashion statement during the promotional campaign for Batwara 1947, stepping out in a vibrant fuchsia Farshi salwar set priced at Rs 42,500. The traditional ensemble, designed by Devnaagri, combined an old-world silhouette with contemporary styling, creating a regal look that complemented the period setting of the upcoming film.
Zinta’s outfit featured a voluminous Farshi salwar paired with a straight-cut kurta and a statement dupatta. The vivid fuchsia shade gave the classic attire a modern edge, while the flowing silhouette and detailed craftsmanship retained its traditional character. The choice also echoed the film’s historical setting and its focus on the Partition era.
The actress kept the rest of her styling relatively understated. She accessorised the ensemble with gold-toned earrings and a layered necklace, allowing the bright outfit to remain the centrepiece of the look. Her hair was left loose, while soft eye makeup and a subtle pink lip completed the appearance.
Zinta paired the traditional outfit with Flora pointy-toe ankle-strap block heels by Aprajita Toor, reportedly worth Rs 12,899. The footwear added a contemporary touch without taking attention away from the elaborate salwar set.
The fashion appearance comes as Batwara 1947 builds anticipation ahead of its scheduled theatrical release on August 14. Directed by Rajkumar Santoshi, the period drama stars Zinta alongside Sunny Deol, Ali Fazal, Shabana Azmi and others. The film explores the human experiences surrounding the Partition of India.
Zinta’s latest promotional appearance continues her recent run of Indian-inspired fashion choices, with traditional silhouettes serving as a recurring element of her promotional wardrobe. The fuchsia Farshi salwar, however, stood out for its combination of heritage styling, bold colour and modern minimalism.
