Spider-Man: Brand New Day, starring Tom Holland, has delivered a record-breaking performance at the Indian box office, emerging as the biggest opening for a Hollywood film in the country and surpassing the previous benchmarks set by Avengers: Endgame.
The latest instalment in the Spider-Man franchise witnessed an unprecedented response across Indian cinemas following its release, driven by strong advance bookings and high audience turnout. The film’s performance has reinforced the growing popularity of Hollywood superhero films among Indian moviegoers.
The blockbuster continued its strong run through its opening weekend and maintained momentum during the weekdays. Within six days of its release, the film crossed the ₹300-crore net collection mark in India, becoming one of the fastest Hollywood releases to achieve the milestone. The film’s Hindi version has also contributed significantly to its overall earnings, expanding its appeal beyond traditional English-language audiences.
Globally, Spider-Man: Brand New Day crossed the $1-billion mark within six days, making it the second-fastest film in box office history to achieve the milestone. The film reportedly earned more than $1.05 billion worldwide, with strong collections from both domestic and international markets.
The film’s record-breaking opening in India has placed it ahead of several major Hollywood releases and highlighted the continued commercial strength of the Spider-Man franchise. Industry observers attribute the strong response to the popularity of the character, extensive promotional campaigns and the growing demand for large-scale theatrical experiences.
Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, the film marks Holland’s fourth solo outing as the web-slinging superhero. The cast also includes Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Jon Bernthal, Florence Pugh and Sadie Sink.
With collections continuing to rise, Spider-Man: Brand New Day is now expected to cross further milestones in India and strengthen its position among the highest-grossing Hollywood films released in the country.
