The makers of Ramayana: Part 1, one of Indian cinema’s most ambitious mythological adaptations, are reportedly planning to release the film in China as part of a wider international expansion strategy. According to media reports, discussions are underway to introduce the film to Chinese audiences, with a promotional tour featuring lead actors Ranbir Kapoor, Yash and Sai Pallavi also being considered.

The move is aimed at strengthening the film’s global reach by tapping into China’s vast theatrical market, which has previously shown interest in select Indian productions. While an official confirmation on the release timeline is awaited, industry sources suggest that the makers are exploring distribution opportunities and promotional activities to maximise the film’s international appeal.

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana: Part 1 stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Goddess Sita, and Yash as Ravana. The film has generated significant anticipation since its announcement, owing to its star-studded cast, large-scale production and extensive use of visual effects. It is being mounted as a two-part cinematic adaptation of the ancient Indian epic.

Reports indicate that the proposed promotional campaign in China would involve interactions with local audiences and media, reflecting the filmmakers’ intent to position the project as a global cinematic spectacle. Such an initiative could further enhance the visibility of Indian films in overseas markets.
