A light-hearted exchange between Bollywood stars Kajol and Aamir Khan became the highlight of a grand celebration marking 25 years of Lagaan and the silver jubilee of Aamir Khan Productions, as the actress playfully teased the actor about his upcoming marriage to longtime partner Gauri Spratt.
The event, attended by several prominent figures from the film industry, saw Aamir sharing the stage with filmmaker and former wife Kiran Rao, along with actresses Kajol and Juhi Chawla, his co-stars from the 1997 hit Ishq. While praising Aamir’s contribution as a producer, Kajol remarked that his production house had consistently demonstrated “great taste in movies,” before jokingly adding that he also had “great taste in women.” The comment drew laughter from the audience and left Aamir visibly embarrassed.
Juhi Chawla joined in the friendly banter, turning the reunion into a nostalgic throwback for fans who fondly remember the trio’s on-screen chemistry. The atmosphere remained celebratory as industry veterans and younger stars gathered to honour the legacy of Lagaan, widely regarded as one of Indian cinema’s most influential films.
The occasion also comes weeks before Aamir’s reported wedding to Bengaluru-based entrepreneur Gauri Spratt. The actor recently confirmed that the couple will marry in a private ceremony on July 5. Aamir introduced Gauri to the media earlier this year and has spoken publicly about their relationship.
The Lagaan anniversary event served as both a celebration of cinematic achievement and a reminder of the enduring friendships within Bollywood, with Kajol’s witty remark emerging as one of the evening’s most talked-about moments.
