Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has secured a multi-year, multi-million-euro transformation and managed services contract from Canada Life to modernise the insurer’s IT infrastructure across its European operations. The agreement marks a significant step in Canada Life’s long-term technology modernisation strategy and strengthens TCS’s position as a leading provider of AI-led digital transformation services.
Under the partnership, TCS will leverage its artificial intelligence and digital capabilities to manage and modernise Canada Life’s data centres, core infrastructure, end-user computing systems, and software lifecycle management services. The programme aims to improve operational resilience, increase automation, and enhance the overall user experience while enabling the insurer to scale its technology services more effectively.
Canada Life said the collaboration represents the next phase of its efforts to strengthen the technological foundations supporting its business. Caroline Dibbs, Chief Information and Transformation Officer for Europe at Canada Life, said TCS was selected for its technical expertise, transformation capabilities, and collaborative approach, which align with the insurer’s long-term vision and commitment to innovation.
Vinay Singhvi, Head of UK and Ireland at TCS, described the agreement as a testament to the company’s leadership in AI-led transformation. He said the partnership would help Canada Life achieve greater operational efficiency, enhance resilience, and build a more agile and responsive IT ecosystem to support future growth.
As part of the engagement, TCS plans to expand its infrastructure services workforce across the United Kingdom, Ireland, the Isle of Man, and Germany, while investing in employee learning, certification, and career development programmes. The deal further reinforces TCS’s growing presence in the European insurance and pensions sector.
