Indian American Impact proudly endorses Saddam Salim for Congress in Virginia’s 7th District.
Chintan Patel, Executive Director of Indian American Impact, released the following statement:
“We are proud to endorse Saddam Salim for Congress because he has a proven record of public service and his story reflects the strength, resilience, and compassion at the heart of our communities. A first-generation immigrant who experienced homelessness and financial hardship firsthand, he isn’t simply going to just talk about defending immigrant communities or lowering costs for working families. Instead, he has spent his career fighting for those priorities and delivering real results.
Since his first campaign, Impact has been proud to stand with Saddam because he has delivered for Virginians in the State Senate, fought for immigrant communities, and consistently led with courage and integrity. We know he will bring that same fighting spirit and people-first leadership to Congress.”
Senator Salim added: “I’m grateful to have the support of Impact. Their support when I first ran for Senate in 2023 was crucial and one of the many reasons I was able to take on the establishment and win. I know that with their support in this critical primary, we’ll be able to the same this time.”

Through strategic investments and grassroots organizing, Impact has marshaled upwards of $20 million to candidates and robust voter mobilization and policy advocacy efforts, amplifying the voices of South Asian Americans and driving positive change in communities nationwide.
