Salman Khan’s upcoming superhero film with filmmaker duo Raj and DK is shaping up as one of the year’s most closely watched casting stories, with Kareena Kapoor Khan emerging as the front-runner for the female lead. Reports say the actor has been approached for the role and is in advanced talks, though there has been no official confirmation from the makers or the actress yet.
The project marks Salman Khan’s entry into the superhero genre and his first collaboration with Raj Nidimoru and Krishna D.K., the creators of The Family Man. The film is being developed as a high-concept, big-budget spectacle, with pre-production currently underway and a target start date around October 2026. According to reports, the film is being produced by Atul Agnihotri, with Mythri Movie Makers in discussions to come on board as a studio partner.
If Kareena Kapoor Khan signs on, the film would reunite her with Salman Khan after 11 years. The two have previously worked together in Kyon Ki… (2005), Main Aurr Mrs Khanna (2009), Bodyguard (2011) and Bajrangi Bhaijaan (2015), while Kareena also appeared in the song Fevicol Se from Dabangg 2. That would make this their fifth project together, adding another chapter to one of Bollywood’s most familiar on-screen pairings.
Earlier reports had suggested Samantha Ruth Prabhu as a possible choice for the female lead, but recent updates indicate Kareena has now moved ahead in the race. Sources quoted in the coverage also suggest Salman Khan personally reached out to Kareena to consider the film. For now, the project remains in development, but the combination of Salman, Raj and DK, and a possible Kareena reunion has already generated significant buzz across the industry.
