SS Rajamouli’s ambitious film Varanasi will make its first global appearance at CCXP Mexico 2026. The event kicks off on April 24 at the Thunder Stage by Cinemex in Mexico City.
The makers announced the big news on social media. The panel, presented by SS Karthikeya, Rajamouli’s son and producer, will feature a special preview called “Varanasi to the World.” Fans will see never-before-seen behind-the-scenes (BTS) footage made just for the event. SS Rajamouli will send a video message to the audience. The session ends with a live Q&A.
Varanasi stars Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra, and Prithviraj Sukumaran in lead roles. The story follows a Lord Shiva devotee on a time-travelling quest for a cosmic artefact amid a global conspiracy. Massive sets of Varanasi’s ghats and temples are already built. Music is by M.M. Keeravani. The film has a budget close to Rs 1,200 crore and plans worldwide IMAX release on April 7, 2027. Producers are KL Narayana under Sri Durga Arts with Showing Business.
This comes after a trailer glimpse at a Paris festival grabbed global attention. Like Ranbir Kapoor’s Ramayana at CinemaCon, Varanasi eyes big international screens. CCXP Mexico, from April 24 to 26, also has panels for House of the Dragon, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, and Supergirl.
Early buzz is high for this pan-India epic rooted in Indian culture but aimed worldwide. Rajamouli’s track record with RRR sets huge expectations. The debut builds hype long before release.
