One year after the brutal Pahalgam terror attack, Indian security forces have brought justice to the victims through Operation Mahadev. The relentless manhunt ended with the elimination of the three Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists behind the massacre.
The attack happened on April 22, 2025, at Baisaran meadows in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam. Terrorists carried out cold-blooded, execution-style killings of innocent tourists. They targeted civilians based on identity, shocking the nation with extreme brutality.
Swift intelligence work right after the attack confirmed the perpetrators. Eyewitness accounts pointed to three Pakistani terrorists: Sulaiman Shah, Hamza Afgani, and Jibran Bhai of Lashkar-e-Taiba. For the Indian Army and security forces, this was a call to action. They vowed to hunt down the killers no matter what.
Operation Mahadev was a gruelling 93-day pursuit across South Kashmir’s toughest terrain. The Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police worked in seamless coordination. After a tough chase, they neutralised all three attackers.
This success shows India’s strong will against terror. The nation mourns the victims but celebrates the bravehearts who avenged them. Security experts say such operations send a clear message to terror groups. Justice has been delivered, one year on.
