An inspiring evening at the Harvard Club of New York City brought together socially conscious founders, investors, operators, and philanthropists who share a simple conviction: a poverty-free India, within our lifetime, is possible.
Jaideep Khanna (Founder, Ananta – Om Management) opened the evening with a warm welcome, setting the stage for conversations on how New York’s community can help accelerate India’s journey towards economic inclusion at scale.
Atul Satija (Founder & CEO, The/Nudge) shared philanthropy’s role in shaping social change in India, and The/Nudge Institute’s journey, impact and aspirations.
In a special segment celebrating 10 years of The/Nudge, Atul Satija (Founder & CEO, The/Nudge) was joined by Deepak Raj (Board Member, The/Nudge & Founder – Raj Associates) to reflect on what it takes to back bold ideas early, build enduring institutions and keep the focus on outcomes for the poorest.
We were deeply honoured to have Indra Nooyi (Former Chairman & Chief Executive Officer, PepsiCo) as our special guest of honour, sharing reflections on leadership, giving, and why investing in women and communities at the margins is central to India’s next chapter of growth.
A fireside chat brought the work on the ground to life, with Pankhuri Shah (Founder, Project Deep) and Rakesh Sehgal (Co-founder, Codeyogi) in conversation with Hari Manappattil (Algorithmic Corporate Bond Trading, RBC Capital Markets) on how they are creating pathways to dignified work and income for young people and communities across India.
Later in the evening, Nitin Jindal (Partner, Head Global Commodities, Goldman Sachs) spoke about how the Indian diaspora in New York can support, and Dev Joneja (Chief Risk Officer, ExodusPoint Capital Management) closed with a vote of thanks, underscoring the shared responsibility of leaders across sectors to back solutions that move the needle for millions.
We are incredibly grateful to our founding supporters in New York and to everyone who joined us, asked hard questions, and leaned into what it will take to build a more just and inclusive India. This is just the beginning of a growing community committed to transformative social innovation.
Together, this community is turning the idea of a poverty‑free India within our lifetime into a shared, actionable agenda.
