Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar has revealed that his wife, author and former actress Twinkle Khanna, studied his family’s medical background before getting married to him, instead of just matching horoscopes.
According to Akshay, Twinkle did not only check his own kundli; she looked at the kundlis and health histories of his entire family, including his father, maternal uncle (mama) and paternal uncle (chacha). He said she wanted to know if there were any major illnesses or genetic problems in the family before entering the marriage.
Twinkle, daughter of veteran actor Rajesh Khanna, has earlier spoken about making a “genetic list” of diseases in Akshay’s family before their wedding. She has explained that she asked questions about what diseases ran in his relatives and at what age they had health issues, because she planned to have children with him.
Akshay and Twinkle got married on 17 January 2001 in a simple ceremony in Mumbai, attended by about 50 close friends and family members. The couple has two children, son Aarav and daughter Nitara.
