Rajasthan Royals beat Mumbai Indians by 27 runs in a rain-hit IPL 2026 match at Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati. The game shrank to 11 overs due to rain. Yashasvi Jaiswal smashed an unbeaten 77 off 32 balls to power RR to 150 for 3.
Jaiswal set the tone early. He hammered 22 runs off Deepak Chahar in the first over with boundaries and a six. Together with young opener Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who scored 39 off 14 balls, RR raced to 58 without loss in three overs. Jaiswal hit 10 fours and 4 sixes in all. His fifty came off just 23 balls, his third-fastest in IPL history.
This knock broke key records for Jaiswal. He equalled Ajinkya Rahane’s mark with his 19th fifty-plus score for RR, behind only Jos Buttler and Sanju Samson on 25 each. Jaiswal also joined the elite list of RR batters with 100 IPL sixes, becoming the fourth Indian to hit 100 sixes so fast. Now with 2,336 runs in 70 IPL games at a strike rate of 153.58, he grabbed the Orange Cap with 170 runs in three matches this season.
MI struggled in the chase. RR bowlers N Burger, Sandeep and Ravi Bishnoi took two wickets each to restrict them. Jaiswal said he tries his best every time. At 24, he reminded fans he can match young stars like 15-year-old Sooryavanshi, who debuted with flair. Recall Jaiswal’s IPL fastest fifty off 13 balls in 2023. RR’s win boosts their campaign.
