India’s IT giant Wipro has won a big eight-year deal from Singapore-based Olam Group. The deal is worth more than $1 billion, with $800 million already committed. As part of it, Wipro will buy Olam’s IT unit, Mindsprint Pte. Ltd., for $375 million.

Olam Group is a major food and agri-business worth over $50 billion. It has nearly 40,000 workers and is mostly owned by Temasek Holdings. The company sells food, ingredients, feed, and fibre to 22,000 customers in over 60 countries. This deal helps Olam sell off assets under its 2025 re-organisation plan and give money back to shareholders.

Mindsprint started in 2007 and is based in Singapore. It has over 3,200 staff in India, Singapore, the US, the UK, and the Middle East. Last year, in 2025, it made $135.6 million in revenue. After the buy and necessary approvals, Mindsprint will become a full unit of Wipro by June 30, 2026.

Wipro will use AI tools and its Wipro Intelligence platform to help Olam change its business. This includes consulting and tech partnerships. Wipro CEO Srini Pallia said it boosts their farm-to-fork skills and growth in food and agri. Olam CEO Sunny Verghese added it will make the firm more agile. Mindsprint CEO Suresh Sundararajan and team will stay on.

This is one of Wipro’s biggest wins in Asia. It shows IT firms are growing in new markets with AI focus.
